Summit Objective

To navigate the intersection of Zimbabwe’s economic development and climate survival through the lens of the updated NDC 3.0 and the National Energy Compact.

 

PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS

 

High-Stakes Inter-University Debate Series

  • Energy Motion: Zimbabwe should phase out coal only after reaching Universal Energy Access, regardless of NDC 3.0 timelines.
  • Climate Finance & Sovereignty Clash: All NDC 3.0 targets should be “conditional” upon international finance, refusing domestic Treasury funds.
  • Agriculture and Adaptation Clash: The state should mandate a transition from maize to small grains/drought tolerant crops for food security.
